I bought my dv6tqe a little over a year ago and the HDD recently failed. I ordered a 500gb seagate momentus xt off of amazon and installed it. I used the recovery to reinstall windows 7 and everything was fine until my computer started responding sluggishly and then it blue screened and had an error when I tried to restart it. Not sure what this means so I don't really know what to do from here, don't know if I messed up installing something or what so help and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Not sure what the error code was because I restarted my computer and used system restore. My laptop is working atm but it's still being sluggish. I checked my hardware components and it's still saying that my disk drive is the old toshiba hdd that failed and not the new seagate so I think that might be the problem, I just don't know how to fix it.

Googling that 0x000000F4 specifically brings stuff up about hard drive trouble. Also be sure you have got the latest drivers, use Windows Update.

What happened with the old hard drive? Sounds odd that the system still thinks you have the old Toshiba HDD installed.
