Hi, I have an hp laptop 6735s (bought in May 2009), and it stopped working a month ago.
It won't boot up & the caps lock light flashes 5 times. I tried resetting it, but nothing worked. Since my warranty expired couple of months ago, I took it to a service, and they said that both motherboard and cpu are dead, and claim it would cost almost 1 000 dollars (for HP MBO 6735s M780G & CPU AMD Mobile Turion RM-70 2.0 GHZ).
Sounds like a rip-off, so I've been considering buying these parts on ebay. What do you recommend? Any suggestions are welcome, thx

Hey i just came across this thread, does anyone know a place online that would sell laptop components as such, e.g. a motherboard/cpu for this laptop ?

    Thanks :D

    Ebay is the usual place.

But once you know the part number, which you can obtain from the service manual, you can simply google the part number and many vendors will come up.
