Does anyone know if its possible to replace the built in wireless card in the HP dv6t SE May 2010 model?

This would be a nice upgrade from the one HP gives you "Intel Wifi Link 5300"
Amazon.com: Intel Wifi Link 5300: Electronics

Built in? As in non-replaceable, soldered on the motherboard?

Or do you mean just the stock option, fastened with 2 screws, replaceable in 5mins +driver install. I'd put my money on the second one.

Yup, 2 screws. But the dv6 only has 2 antennas so the 5300 wouldn't really do much for you. You can get the 5100 or install another antenna.

Did HP stop whitelisting cards now?
I'm curious to replace my wireless card as well. And because I'm afraid of editing the bios and bricking the laptop.

Sorry about my poor behavior at the moment, I'm not having a good month.

Is there a better choice out in the market or within the models that HP offers. Does the Intel WIFI card provide greater/faster connectivity? Who produces the non intel WIFI card for HP?

    Thanks,
    C.

I guess not, so the choises are limited by the original manufacturer's options.

Please do post what cards that work with the dv6t.

I'm looking for some cards that supports abgn since I find the current link 1000 really restrictive in functionality.
