    Hi everyone!!

    I'm new at this forum.

I want to ask about my Compaq(HP), model: V6057EA.

Can i replace my wireless module without bluetooth with a another module with bluetooth?
    Another question:

Yes you can replace both. The wireless module should be relatively easy considering the fact that you only have to unscrew a couple of screws and replace with another wireless module.

The CPU can be changed, so long as the chipset etc are the same. Though if you don't have much experience with opening up computers. Don't do it. Besides what CPU are you planning on upgrading to and from?

They should be. The TL-52 Isn't such a slow processor. Though I wouldn't recommend removing it. First off, you will void your warranty by opening the laptop up. One very good reason not to touch it. Another reason is, there can be a lot problems that will come up if you go ahead with it.

But like I said, it's not worth it.

The motherboard will cost you a pretty penny to change. You sure you want that.

all motherboards are designed differently and will cost around 200-400 to replace. I would suggest going through warranty if it's broken.

Why would you want to replace the motherboard?

Why you buy a laptop and then change everything? Doesn't make sense.

It isn't worth it. I would suggest getting a new laptop. For 400$ nowadays you can get yourself a decent laptop. That about how much the Motherboard will cost you alone.

Thats what costs around 400$. I'm really not understanding what you are trying to do. It would be plain stupidity to replace the whole motherboard to upgrade graphics.!!!??

Most people buy a new laptop instead of buying a new motherboard. If it's covered under warranty then great, but if it's not, then throw it out. If the motherboards the problem that is.

Other then that, If you really know what your doing and have plenty of experience in that department, then go for it.

But I would suggest you just live with the graphics card for now. Save up money for your next laptop so you can get a very good graphics card.

Ebay. They're going for around 200. Buyer-beware obviously, and I dunno if a DV6000 board would fit (they look pretty similar though).

And the fancy video cards are separate, so you will have to buy both a motherboard that can take a separate card and the video card.

I see that you are determined to get a new motherboard. Then all I can say is good luck. Check up on ebay for motherboards. Though you might want to read up on how to DIY and what the motherboard needs to work in your laptop.

I believe the answer is no. I tried this (replace non-BT mini-PCI card with BT one), but you can - there are extra antenna wires in use.

    (the 802.11 one has 2 wires/connectors, the 802.11+BT had 3 wires/connectors).

I don't think this is true; there is more to replacing mini-PCI network cards than meets the eye (see above post.)

AFAIK HP uses separate PCIe cards for the bluetooth and the wifi. You really cannot replace the wifi with a third party card(aftermarket) due to a BIOS limitation.

The bluetooth however is a separate module and HP has a specific part number for it. Look through the service manual for your system on HP.com for more information on the part number.

P.S- Before purchasing the card make sure the mobo has the connector for the bluetooth, since HP can use different revisions of the mobo.

I don't see why there would be a problem, it's just a mini PCI slot. Not much to it.

Yes if you don't know what your doing then I can imagine it wouldn't work, but if you know a little about the configuration and part numbers, I don't think there will be an issue.

One would think is would be interchangable (and they should be), but it is not the case with Bluetooth as far as I have seen on some recent HPs

Specifically, in the current 2500/2600/2700 series, if you have an Intel mni-PCI network card without Bluetooth, and you try to replace it with one with Bluetooth, it will not work; there extra wires and connections that aren't present.

Yes the bluetooth wont work if you didn't have it to begin with. But the cards are definitely swappable.

You may not be able to swap it with a bluetooth card, but you can still swap it for a Intel 4965 Card. Then you could just get a bluetooth usb dongle.
