    Hello,

I am having problems with my HP dv2116wm laptop. I believe it was since I upgraded to F.34 BIOS.

I want to revert back to F.23 BIOS. It is not available on the HP website. Kindly provide me a link where I can download F.23 and F.22 BIOS versions.
These have the file names: sp34619.exe & sp35440.exe

    Thanks in advance.

    Ravindra.

    Hello,

When I start the laptop, all the blue lights come on. The Wireles light also comes on. I can even eject my DVD tray. But the screen remains black. No BIOS POST. When I press power button for 4 secs to turn the laptop off, connect the charger, the charger seems to turn the laptop ON. But still dark screen.
With the charger connected, when I try to turn the laptop ON, it sometimes turns ON. Well, even with the charger disconnected, it sometimes turns ON.
With the screen dark, if I insert a cd in the drive, it spins. but does not go any further than the dark screen.

I have posted this problem on this forum elsewhere. There is one more gentleman with this same problem. ( http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?p=2606289#post2606289)
I want to downgrade my BIOS.
    Kindly help.

    Ravindra.

    Hello,

Unfortunately, only the current F.43 BIOS version is available. The other versions return with 0byte files.

    Regards,

    Ravindra.

Just my 2 cents. I work in a HP lab and usually if I want to downgrade a bios ( for ex, from .34 to .23 ), I need to go to a intermediate version (depending on the plattform, for exmaple F.0B is one intermediate version for HP 8xxx). So I'm not sure if you can successfully downgrade bios using this methods.

    Hello,

Kindly read F.43 as F.34 in my previous post.

    Luxuguy:
HP support told me to restore BIOS to 'default' settings and re-caliberate my battery. Even he had mentioned that downgrade is not possible.
Could you tell us what is the 'intermidiate' BIOS version for dv2000z and if possible share it with me?

    strategist333:
If it does not violate any copyright issues, could you kindly post it here or e-mail it to me?

    Thanks for all your answers.

    Ravindra.

I'll try to look it up for you today. But again, do it at ur own risk. Even I feel "scary" when I hit the panic button lol.

There are 2 different code names that both are branded as DV2000. I don't know which one is yours. But either case, I couldn't find information on how to downgrade the bios.
If you can wait, I'll try to ask people around here on how to do this.
