    Hi HP users,

    I have been able to enable the ICH8-M SATA controller on a HP 2510P using baredit. As the unit wasn't shipped with a SATA controller enabled, I would like a dsdt table from a SATA enabled ICH8-M notebook using the same chipset from a similar era, to see if I could incorporate some of it's code to enable the SATA controller on the 2510P via acpi. As HP encode their bios, I cannot extract it from the bios image. This could be a from 6510b, 6710b or 6910p.

    So, if you'd like to help, can you please save your DSDT table of your bios then link to this thread? (eg: stashbox.org) If you have Linux it's as simple as linking the dsdt.aml file from the following command:

    $ cat /proc/acpi/dsdt > dsdt.aml

    For Windows users, a bit more complex: http://avkrok.net/nw8240/windows.html

    Many thank yous
    nando
