This is probably a very silly question but I have not done it in a while. Is there any way to restore the computer to defaults without losing any of your personal files? Programs like MS office, Sony vegas, photoshop etc.

My internet is slow and it would be a pain to re-download it all on Steam
    Any answers are appreciated.

Don't think so, I've done it various but from what I have seen it has kept only the files but the programs no. Usually everything will go to a folder c:/windows.old. So you might be able to drag the files back to the folders for the steam and hope steam sees it but usually the registry will not have any files maybe also do a registry and do a recovery. But don't know if that'll work. Usually programs will have to be reinstalled but files will be there.

Will have been good if you where able to keep the programs without having to download and reinstalled but don't see it.

Recovery manager gives an option for restoring all drivers and S.O. without loosing documents but I don't know if it restoring programs or not.

If you do a reinstall your files will be in c/windows but you will loose everything else. (Those too if you are not careful.)
