    Hey everyone,
I've had my HP HDX 16 for over a month now. To be honest, I'm really unsatisfied with it.
    • The glossy screen makes it really hard to use when there's any sort of light in the room (my reflection is as visible as the image!).
    • The 1920x1080 resolution is far too much for a 16" screen.
    • Its colours are actually nowhere near as vibrant as my Dell monitors.
    • The keyboard actually makes marks on the screen!
    • the Page Down/Break key has come out of its socket.
    • The battery is pathetic.
    • The touch buttons would have been much better off as actual buttons.
    • Weighs as much as a newborn!
I wonder if these reasons are enough to persuade HP to let me return it for a refund?

I think you need to be more realistic. Most of the issues you raised are your personal dissatisfaction and HP has nothing to do with it. You should have discovered your dislike for it in the first week of ownership, hence it doesn't take 30 days to realise this. HP will allow you to return a defective device which needs constant repair work, but this is not the case here.

I have to agree with Chrixx. What did you look at/ research prior to buying the laptop (weight, other peoples satisfaction, etc..)?

I read on their website that in some cases, HP will allow a return after 30 days with a 25% restocking fee. Could you elaborate on what circumstances (other than it being defective) HP may allow this return?

I actually read a LOT of comments and all the reviews I could find. I also assumed that since all Macbooks use glossy screens, that it'd be fine. How wrong I was! And everyone kept saying the screen is gorgeous/excellent with its 1080p "vibrant" display. I honestly think its pretty poor.

I think that you'll be out of luck on the return. As far as the screen, if you haven't tried this already, increase the Digital Vibrance and adjust the Gamma in the Nvidia control panel: it made a world of difference for my HDX18.
