    Will HP wait to receive my laptop first before they ship out the new one or will they ship the new one even before the exchange one has arrived? I have been getting conflicting answers from HP reps so I'm confused.

    They put my replacement order in, but a hold was placed until I sent back the old one. That hold was removed once fedex took my computer and put it in the system.

    Depends.

    If you are doing an exchange, they won't ship until they receive.

    If you are doing a cross ship, where you pay or let them authorize the charge on your CC for the new notebook, they will send it ASAP (unless it requires building) and when they get the old one, they will release the authorization on your CC or refund you for the new one they just shipped.
