Looking very seriously at this laptop now and i have *yet* to see any reviews on it. the spec's look well enough (2.1 ghz phenom ii 4x + ati5650) and it has a few nice things like the back-lit keyboard.

from the amount of researching i've done.. i should expect it to perform fairly decently in the benchmarks... probably low 8000s in 3dmark06..

i'm not sure about the battery life either... if it could pull 3.5-4hrs on the integrated graphics.. i think i would be very pleased with that.. I seriously doubt i'll do much gaming where i can't reach a power plug.

Sorry that I missed your post.

    I would've replied sooner.

Well, anyway, just in case you still need
some benchmark results, I posted some in
    this thread.

Here are Newegg Customer Reviews of the HP Pavilion dv6-3050us (N930 CPU).
Similar specs, but the dv6-3160us has the (N950) CPU and the backlit keyboard.

I had a customized DV6, review in my thread. Not the exact same machine, but very similar.

    Regarding JVRR's review,
I definitely agree about the dv6 keyboard layout.
The problem can easily be resolved with a program like SharpKeys.

The dv6 touchpad, on the other hand, I have to slightly disagree.

I like the feel/texture of the touchpad.

I actually like the size of it. More space, less strain on my thumbs & fingers
    during usage.

I like the control with the touchpad and got used to the buttons, it's fine to me when using them.

I never had any problems or experienced any erratic behavior with the touchpad.

JVRR has written an excellent dv6 review.

It is one of the main reasons I purchased a dv6.

    Thank you JVRR! :)
