I did a search on the subject but the two threads I found didn't really clear up my question.

Can the Ricoh 5-in-1 reader on the DV2500t read SDHC cards? I've already tested my various MS Pro/regular SD cards, and those work fine, but my DV2500t doesn't respond at all when I put my new SDHC card in the reader. If it helps at all, I'm running XP on the computer now, and never tested for SDHC compatibility when I still had Vista.

I've tried to get updated drivers to see if that was the issue, but I'm already using the most recent drivers.

If the card isn't compatible, that's fine with me. I'd rather not have to get an adapter but it's not the biggest deal in the world. But if there is a way to get the card reader to read SDHC cards without running out to get an adapter, I'd rather save the cash ;)

I just tried a sdhc in my compaq reader and it found it just fine. You might make sure the lock is in the off position, just a thought.

Tried with the lock both off and on, the SDHC card is the only one I own that isn't recognized at all. I know the card works well in the phone I'm using it in, so it's probably not an issue of it being a bum card.

Just to let you know, I have an HP DV2000t, and the A-Data Class 6 SDHC Turbo, does not work on it. Lights blink but nothing happens in XP. Using XP by the way and can't find any new drivers on HP's site.

It would be appreciated if someone points us in the right direction if there is a right direction. Thanks.

For my 8710W there are 2 driver versions for the 5-in-1. The newer one 1.01.03 supports SD cards and the older one 1.00.02 supports SD and HSSD. Weird, but at least they have drivers. I've noticed that compatibility has a lot to do with who the manufacture of the card is.

Apparently the hp drivers for the dv series are all made for Vista, therefore when you update the drivers, sdhc cards can be read in Vista, if you downgraded to XP you might not be able to read it.

    i think that i found a solution

my DV6000 was with the same problems using windows XP, it doesnt reads SDHCs, but when i run windows vista, the ricoh RL5C822 SD Card reader read and wrote on my Kingston 4gig SDHC.

the solution is, since HP never realeased good drivers for XP, i've looked for another notebook with the same card reader, the sony vaio VGN-TT13, and downloaded the drivers to it.

the version provided by HP is 1.x.x... and the version for the vaio's is 6.x.x.

after installed the drivers and rebooted the lappy, i can read and write on my SDHCs :)

i cant post URLs since i dont have 15posts but use the Google or the Sony's support page to find it.

sry for my english but hope it works!

I have another hp model but if you use this file from the sony site you can update your driver and your system will rocognize the sdhc cards.

    TT SD Card 6.3.1.16.zip

unzip the file go to system, hardware, select sd controller, update drivers, navigate to wherever the unziped files are, and you should see the files.

Taken from my drivers thread for those who need them. (See sig. :))
These drivers have been provided by the Microsoft Update Catalog. Please note that this driver must be installed using the Device Manager - Update Driver wizard. The INFs support Windows XP, Vista, and 7 (both 32-bit and 64-bit).

Edit: See post #12 for corrected driver links.

I installed the drivers, reformat my card, but it's not working for my Asus G2S-A1.
Oh well, I'll have to use the cable to transfer my pics.
    Thanx anyway
