Does anyone have a hint of when the primitive hp.ca web site will have the i5 based Envy available? I understand a few weeks but it's been over a month since the launch and still no news.

I have written to HP and called them expressing my disappointment (esp with their GM mentality towards CAD exchange rate) and I would urge any fellow Canadians to do the same.

If only the Envy wasn't so damn hot looking :)

    Same problem in the UK.

They are still selling the Envy with the old 4850 and 720p screen for £1100 ($1730). They then have another model at £1500 ($2355) including the 5850 and 1080p screen, although it does include more ram etc...

Pretty pathetic - really don't understand why HP's prices are so poor! We also don't get any customisation options either - we get set models and thats it.

Both actually, Envy 15 with 4830's are being EOL'd in a few weeks. Futureshop is not getting any Envy 15 with 4830 past the last week of March so I'm assuming Envy 15 with 5830's are coming in.

Any update on this by chance? I would assume some orders for mid-late march would have to be placed by now.

That is not suprising ... stuff in UK is overpriced and u can find better laptops online if u look properly... i suggest Sager NP8690 which u can get on kobaltcomputers.co.uk (known as G860)... for the same price , u get a super notebook... which literally can play all games on Max... if ur willing to spend 250 pounds more, u can find an Asus G73 on ebay which will give u blue ray , dual hard drives and 8GB RAM...also u can expand RAM to 16GB...
