I don't know what handbrake is, but I do know that dvdfab will convert dvds so you can use them in an iPod. There is a free 30 day trial for DVDFAB Platinum if you go here and download it: www.dvdfab.com

This is a great tool, I've been using it for quite sometime now and it works great!

Up in the Windows OS section there is a great sticky thread on "Free Software" and it has a DVD rip section, you can check it here:

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=206289

The basic idea here is you rip/decode the dvd to an ISO image then encode/convert the ISO and burn the converted data onto a DVD so it will play in a DVD player, or convert the ISO to another format (i.e. ipod format). I've used dvdfab a few times but mostly I use DVD Shrink to create the ISO's.

    Good luck!

I haven't used DVDFAB to rip to iPod format, but a DVD to ISO image usually takes around 30-45 minutes per DVD.

When you say task 1 of 27, what do you mean? Is that the entire process it is going through for 1 dvd to iPod format?

first it says in anylyzing title 1,2,3 and so forth up to 27. then it starts to convert them to the right format i guess and there is 27 task to go with the 27 titles its converting. btw this is the office dvd, so its a bunch of tv shows in one dvd is that makes a difference..
