Yeah this is quite hard to explain. Well.. i got this HP laptop, which has the ability to have two hdd's init.. Only one by default. Well.. I bought it used btw. I started out with switching the default 150gb with my 300gb hdd, but i also wanted to use the 150gb one, so i figured i'd plug it in the other storage but then i saw that i was missing the little 'case' or 'box' that you put laptop hdd's into before plugging them into the laptop.. i was also missing a little plug which you put on the harddisk so it will fit into the laptop if you know what i mean.. i find it really hard to explain lol.. anyway... i was wondering if anybody knew what those things are called and/or where to get em..

    Thanks

Try newegg.com, search for external HDD casing. I know what you mean, it is a caddy for secondary hdd, but I think it would be easier if you use an external casing.

You can get it internal, but I think the caddy is very specific to the laptop maker. It will be a bit harder to find. So if HP has somekind of a place that sells parts, you can try that. Or maybe you can try google for HP parts. Or try eBay.

Well, I tried again, and I found this. I don't know which model you have, so you'll have to decide.

One that fits any of the DV9XXX series should work.

I just ordered an HDD caddy today for my DV9700. Which notebook do you have?

Now i just need to figure out if I need a 3.0 gb or 1.5 gb Sata drive. No need to order a more expensive one of the laptop can't handle the higher speeds.

    Try http://newmodeus.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2_5&products_id=131

That's where I ordered my caddy and connector from.

what you need is a hard drive enclosure for the internal hard drive.
