    SATA mobile HD

    has any one tried SATA mobile HD on a SATA cable of a desktop PC? did it work?

    If you mean a SATA 2.5" HDD that is found in laptops, then yes it will work if you connect it to a desktop. There is no difference between IDE and SATA HDDs in how they work and interact with the computer. The nice thing about SATA is that you don't need an adapter to connect it to a desktop. If you had a 2.5" IDE HDD you would have to get a 2.5" to 3.5" IDE adapter to get it to work on a Desktop.
