SB Envy 14 Beats Edition refreshed as well?

I am waiting to purchase the sb envy 14 when it is released, but I wanted to get it in the black/red beats edition. Are they bringing the Beats edition envy with the June 15th refresh, or will it just be the original?

Tried to see if this was discussed before, but couldnt find a clear answer.

 

Yes, we discussed this before. I started the topic. CNET Asia reported it will be available same day as the regular version. So looks like we're in the same boat waiting 3 weeks!

 

lol you can add me to that boat! i sent back my recently purchased envy so i can wait for the refresh envy beats.
when i was chatting with the HP online person i think it was a female, she offered to credit me 10$ in order for me not to return the laptop. i was like
10 bucks wont get me the new sandy bridge nor usb 3.0 nor the xbox 360 deal so i ended up sending it shipping it back today. sadly i feel lost without it but i know the wait will be worth it.

Really? They've offered me 250 to keep an envy with an i7 before I even got it shipped to me. Glad I got the i5 instead.

i know man, it shocked me. i was like WAIT wuuut??? haha

so now that i returned my old envy i cant decided if i should buy a 2gen dv6t select Edition with high specs and that 1080p or if i should get an SB envy 14?? that probably will keep the same resolution as the current ones..?

 

If only the regular Envy laptops looked like the Beats Edition...MINUS the logo on the other side.

I love the Envy live but the silver metallic swirls don't look as nice as the black finish of the Beats edition which I love....sigh. And I highly doubt that it will change anytime soon.

 

yea i dont like those swirl pattern so i wont get the silver one.
the matte black is really sexy specially with the red backlit keyboard. the red logo can easily be hidden with a sticker or decal of your choice? isnt that what alot of people do just block it. its easier to block out the logo than the whole swirly pattern on the other laptop.

 

isnt the beats glossy black? aka finger print magnet ?

 

Yes...I say stay away. If you want a fingerprint magnet then go with the Samsung Series 9 at least.

 

Not that bad on fingerprints. nothing around keyboard and body. the lid is where the fingerprints go around the area I grab the notebook out of the sleeve. But then they do easily disappear by wiping them with my hand. and, surprise surprise, beats logo is not cool. I do have some apple stickers from my brothers ipad and MBP.. but then again, apple logo isnt any better (its worse). What kind of stickers are people applying? I would find it hard to fit a sticker with the black lid.

 

Glossy black? Are you talking about like a old playstation 3 piano glossy black? My sister bought an envy like 2 months ago and its not glossy like an old playstation 3 is. It's more like a matte black. And you can make your own skins on Skinit.com: Phone Skins, Laptop Skins, iPod Skins, Gaming Skins: Personalization on Demand they have sized cuts for the envy 14 I think the hitman symbol would be kinda cool to replace the beats logo since the laptop is already black and the hitman logo is red. But I'm a fan so yea

 

I don't have any problem with the Beats logo. I don't really care about Beats, but their logo makes the laptop look distinctive.

Not so sure they're going to upgrade it now. Have a look here:

They show the Beats Edition separately from the regular Envy 14 (scroll to the right on the little menu), and they don't mention the Sandy Bridge or upgraded graphics on it.

I chatted with a live support agent, and they couldn't confirm or deny that (although that doesn't mean too much on its own).

 

soooooo if the beats does not get the Sandy Bridge update are you still going to go for the regular one or get the old version beats? or even a dv6t select edition with higher specs?

If the Beats Edition does not get the refresh im gonna be stuck between the dv6t and the regular envy, which i dont like the design of it much.. . what will you guys decide to buy??

 

As long as they put a good GPU in the envy I could care less if it's the beats or the regular envy, if not I'm taking my money elsewhere.

 

I'd be fine with the 6330m. For me, I prefer to look at the laptop as a whole instead of thinking "it must have X part" in it.

 

For me the 6330m on a premium laptop like the envy is just not enough I would expect that the premium line would have the better specs not just looks or build quality.
