My Expresscard slot is currently filled with an eSATA card, so my only other free slot is the SD/MMC/Whatever else Slot. I know they make SD Bluetooth cards for Mobile Devices like Pocket PCs and PDAs, but would plugging a Bluetooth SD into my laptop actually work?

No certainty on the reader slot but you do have USB ports.

You can use an internal mini pci or mini pcie port.
You will have to change your wireless adaptor to one which has wireless and bluetooth capabilities. I know they are made, but I dont know which one is best.

Well the big thing for me is that I'm trying to reduce the number of USB devices I have and try to go for something more permanent and in a slot I hardly use. I was browsing the HP Partsurfer and did find the HP PCI 802.11b/g WLAN with Bluetooth. Would this be the best method to go from the installation standpoint?

I suggest checking to see if that card comes with an antenna. Internal BT modules have a long antenna wire that snakes around through the case, like what Wifi boards use. If your laptop didn't come with BT preinstalled there's probably not an antenna for it in the case.
