This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    SD Card reader in 6910p slow!

    anyone else notice this? the built-in card reader operates at about 1/4 of the speed that a cheapo USB card reader does (in my testing with both available driver sets from the HP website, with several different SD and SDHC cards ranging in size from 1GB to 16GB, running Vista Business x64)

    The best the built-in card reader can muster is about 4.5MB/sec, while the USB reader can get almost 25MB/sec from a 16GB SDHC card.

    Actually, I was amazed that the built in reader was able to recognize the 16GB card at all.

    Anyone getting better results than me?
