    Oh so we're going to have fun eventually. You say you have Ubuntu too, does the card reader work under that?

    Also, any exclamation marks in Device Manager?

    I don't have Xubuntu anymore.
    Actually I've Win XP and Archlinux.
    And on both system the card reader seems to be not present.
    On win xp the hardware is however recognized while on linux this is the output of lspci:
    Code:
    $ lspci | grep Ricoh
    02:04.0 CardBus bridge: Ricoh Co Ltd RL5c476 II (rev b6)
    02:04.1 FireWire (IEEE 1394): Ricoh Co Ltd R5C832 IEEE 1394 Controller (rev 02)

    I've to make a confession... I had disabled flash card reader from BIOS... it's for this it was not available under both systems...
    :eek: :eek:

    Now the reader goes well... but I need to install the right driver because now I've an exclamation mark...

    No, i'm not sure. Also it seems i accidentally selected a Vista driver, sorry. :p I've been able to get some insight by looking up that card reader's model number on Google, but i'll let you find the results on your own.

    Currently the reader is seen as "generic volume (HP flash media reader)" also without the two drivers listed on hp6510b drivers download page.
