The SD card doesn't display any more HP Pavilion dv6000 - yet the hardware device manager says the drive slot is ok. I'm using latest updated Vista Home Premium. The SD cards work ok in other devices, and now I use a USB SD card reader that works whilst my laptop SD slot is not working.

Anyone with a solution please to re enable the SD slot?

    All leads appreciated.

Try reinstalling the media card reader drivers.

Yep, i had the same thing with my dv6xxx laptop, and uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers fixed it.

Do you have ANY device errors in device manager?

I tried the above, reinstalled drivers, and the device manager says working ok, so maybe the drive hardware itself is faulty. Maybe once in ten the blue drive light comes on and I can read the card.

Now I have to use a USB adapter card reader work around.
