I recently purchased a v2000z and under device manager there is an exclamation mark next to SM Bus controller. I did some research and found out that I need to install chipset drivers. I discovered that quanta of taiwan makes the motherboard for this notebook but their website, quantatw.com has nothing for download. Anyone else have this problem?

You shouldn't be going to the Quanta site for drivers. If this is a chipset problem, you should get the drivers from either the manufacturer/supplier of the notebook (HP/Compaq) or from the chipset manufacturers website. This unit may have the Intel Chipset in it. If it does, goto the Intel wesbite and download the newest INF drivers for your chipset. Intel has a utility to tell you exactly which drivers you have. If it's not an Intel chipset, then you need to find out what chipset this unit has and get the appropriate chipset drivers for you system. Since this is a Compaq/HP unit, just get them from the HP/Compaq site.

V2000z is an AMD Turion with an ATI chipset. ATI's website may have updated drivers that work on notebooks. Often times they make you get notebook drivers directly from the notebook maker (HP).
