I got my ZV5000Z 2 days ago. It's beautiful! I plugged my ethernet in for internet and it worked fine. The first thing it wanted to do was go to the internet and download updates. I decided to let it do SP2 update for XP Pro. Once it was done I launched a browser and got the default script telling you to check your network connections.

Last night I bought a D Link DI-624. Long story short, I was on the phone w/ HP support trying to figure out why I cannot ping anything (let alone launch a webpage). Pinging responds with a "Request Timeout".

The new SP2 firewall it turned off. Is there somewhere I can look that can reopen my network port? It says I'm connected and fine, but as I previously stated, pinging doesn't do anything and fyi my IP is 169.xxx.xxx.xxx, not 192.xxx...

Any clues as to what SP2 did would be greatly appreciated!

So were you able to connect wirelessly before SP2? I did SP2 weeks ago and didn't have any ill effects in the netwroking arena. Granted I'm on a Fujitsu, but still...
