When I switch back to my regular RealTek HD Audio under playback devices, I get the audio back, but with SRS selected as default speakers under playback devices, I dont get audio though, even though all the meters on SRS sandbox are fluctuating. What could be the problem??

I am not sure which version you had, mine is the latest and there is a little "option" box on top of the UI and if you click it, you can set your preference there. In one of the tabs, you can select your primary output device (I cannot remmember exactly), you need to select your primary speaker as the output and then you have your sound.

Yup... it's in Options > Preferences > Devices > Select "Speaker1" from the drop down menu... that should enable sound from the main speakers on your notebook. I was wondering at first why there wasn't any sound... apparently it defaulted to Bluetooth Audio instead of the main speakers.
