I have a dv5t with an extra mini-pci-express slot open. Just wondering if anyone's tried this 64gb SSD and used it to run Windows XP or Vista?

It's 149, but I think it's worth the price. I'll have the 64gb for the OS and applications, while the installed hard drive (500gb) will be used for all my personal data.

Does anyone have this or something similar installed?

Thanks Nando, that's such a bummer! I was getting really excited about the possibility too.

Would you happen to know if this works for the dv5 as well? It states dv4, but it seems to be the same size...

Also, any place to get it cheaper? $50+ is a little much for a dang caddy...I want the bezels to match, but is there a cheaper place? Thanks!

    Reps for you my friend.

Best bet is to measure up the optical drive (12.7mm or 9.5mm), then look on the back to see if it's a SATA or PATA unit as shown here. Then just use the table here that will show you the ebay options. They'll be cheaper, but forget about the faceplate matching, though their generic nature making them more likely to be usable between different machines eg: dv4/dv5. There's a premium to pay newmodeus for the matching faceplate.
