Hi All, I just purchased a new new Sandisk Extreme240G SSD for my Llano DV6 6135dx and am experiencing very low 4k read/write speeds. I've been searching the forums to no avail so I thought I'd try here. My results are as follows:

    SSD1 AS SSD Benchmark.PNG SSD1 Crystalmark Benchmark.PNG

I believe the alignment is good and I am running on SATA III ports (AHCI mode), firmware revision R201(factory installed) and the current Win7drivers. I'm not really sure where to go from here does anyone have any ideas on what I can do to correct this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Wow that did it. The ms_ahci driver brought the 4k random up but, took the 4k QD32 down (any idea why?) Thanks so much for the much needed input here's a copy of the new benchmarks. SSD1 AS SSD Benchmark with Win7 ahci driver.PNG SSD1 with Win7 ahci driver.PNG

Your overall score decreased. Your Seq Write is pretty low. Is this an SATA III machine?

Yes it is SATA III and yes the overall score decreased, the 4k random read/write increased (still not quite where it should be) and the 4k Q32 read/write decreased. I'm still scratching my head on this one. Any ideas? Win 7 AHCI driver update maybe. I'm certainly open for input here.

The sequential score look fine with the MS ACHI. AS SSD use compressible data, where the sandisk is a SF-2281 iirc.

Probably can get higher 4k and overall score with power tweaks but not really worth it. Intel driver usually get higher 4k(what review uses).

And consider if you just purchase the SDD and write half of the capacity, it will probably need some time for trim to restore some of its performance. Just use your computer normal for a week or 2 then try both driver and bench them again.

Btw, bench CCD with lower amount of write data.

No need to use 4GB of data when u benchmarking with CrystalDiskMark.. just use 3x100MB/5x100MB.
Did you check whether u have TRIM enabled?
