With Ivy Bridge/Geforce 650M just around the corner I keep wondering if I should buy the a laptop now or wait a few weeks for sandy bridge, Since no price range is available, I'm wondering if they will be priced at the same as current generation or is they a premium to be paid at launch date?
So, if you bought your dv6t/dv7t sandy bridge as soon as they came out, how much did you pay for it back then?

Just for curiosity, the lenovo Y480 ivy bridge showed up for preorder on sears and amazon starting at $999, current starting price for Y470p is $749. a 33% markup

I got mine with the specs below for around $1150 (including warranty).

I used a 30% coupon and got an additional 15% because they sent me 2 silver ones, and I was supposed to get 1 umber and 1 silver.... at the time they had no clue about the two different colors.

Typically when HP offers a 30% to 35% coupon you need to jump on it, because that is normally the best deal you will see.

Watch this forum as well as a few coupons sites as to what current coupons and deals HP is offering:

I bought mine on late April 2011 for RM 3,599 ($1,178) with the spec below.

    DV6-6001TX
    • Intel® Core™ i7-2630QM
    • 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 (1 x 4 GB)
    • 750 GB SATA (5400 rpm)
    • LightScribe SuperMulti DVD±R/RW with Double Layer Support | Blu-ray ROM with SuperMulti DVD±R/RW Double Layer (DV6-6114TX)
    • 15.6" Diagonal High-Definition LED HP Brightview Display (1366 x 768)
    • AMD Radeon HD 6770M (1 GB DDR5)
    • Beats sound system
    • TouchPad supporting Multi-Touch gestures & On/Off button
    • Dark Umber Metal Finish

It was bundled with Beats Solo by Dr. Dre headphone and i sold it for RM 700 ($ 230) :D

IMO, the new DV6-7xxx with Ivy Bridge + GT650M probably will cost around $1.5k. :(
