Screen bleed HP Spectre x360 15-ch000na/Vega GL

I have screen bleed on my HP Spectre x 360, HP will do a swap or refund my money.
It doesn't look as bad in real life as it does in the picture, but it still noticeable on movies.

I was wondering how mine was compared to other owners of this laptop.
Not sure if I should swap it and hope for the best, or return it and order the Dell XPS 9570.

I could swap and then return if I'm not happy, but I don't want to be without a laptop longer than possible.

If I get the Dell, it would only be the 1920 x 1080, but I understand I should get a better quality screen.
Plus may be able to upgrade the screen down the road.

Could some owners of these Spectre post some screenshots, so I can compare the screen and see if I was just unlucky on mine.

Hey, I got one HP Spectre x360 15-ch032 (Corei7-8705G with RX Vega M) to test here and on searching for a test of the ips-display (The i7-8550 with nvidia MX150 has BOE06C3, this one BOE0730), i found your post.

So I tested in a dark room, i took this photo with max. brightness an a black full screen image. I can't see any bleeds in real with my eyes, only on the photo in the four edges, but really only seen by camera.

But I'm not very happy with the Display due to it's limited brightness and glossy screen... only in rooms it's good, outside it's a bit hard to read at maximum.. came from asus n56vz (2012) with non-glossy display and tested 295nits in a review, the HP Spectre X360 with BOE06C3 is tested with 335nits in a review on notebookcheck. But it seems to me, that the version in my Spectre (BOE0730) is darker than the 296nits of my ASUS N56VZ. Whats your opinion on the brightness?

Changed 2 things in the BIOS (esc on Boot and then F10): "Fan always on" to "off" --> much better.. and the option "show estimated battery life". Now since i changed these two options, the display is much brighter, like my asus n56vz. really curious..

Found a energy-saving setting in the Intel Graphics Control Panel for an automatic Display Brightness Control. To disable it -- right click on Desktop - Intel Graphic Control settings -> Power --> Display Power Saving Technology --> set the 2 options "Disabled". when enabled and the display shows much black, the Intel Setting reduces brightness of the screen automatically, but the brightness setting in windows is left at 100%.. so if you don't know this you think the screen misses brightness..

 

Got a replacement though today, but not much better than the old one.
May have to give up and get a Dell, shame as apart from the screen its a good laptop.

As far as brightness I've not found that to be an issue.
I think the problem is the screen is very reflective which makes black's appear more grey than they should.
