I really dont think a screen protector is going to be useful because what possible reason do you have for protecting it? Protecting against finger prints? I would save that money and buy like a laptop case protector instead.

yeah its not like a phone that gets put in pockets and banged around screen scratching is not likely just dust/dirt/fingerprints which is easily removed with a cloth.

but the screen protector has anti-glare properties (which is said in their ads) which would make it much easier for me to use the laptop outdoors.....

honestly, id much rather have the matte screen than the new glossy one... its a bit hard to do excel/word stuff with the glossy ones rather than the matte wherein which 80% of the time, i will be using the laptop for excel/word..

that seem slik the same brand as the 1 i got for my cell phone. I guess it protects the screen but it scratches really bad. Im sure there are better ones out there

I just purchased a Compaq V3000T. I came across this thread and thought a screen protector sounded like a good idea. My theory is whenever you clean your screen, you will be creating tiny scratches. They might not show up at first, but over the course of a few years, they might be visible. Kinda like the "spider web" effect that shows up on black cars. Also, I prefer a matte finish to a glossy finish.

Well, I followed the link to the eBay auction and bid on a screen protector from the same seller for my V3000T. I ended up winning the auction. A couple of days later, I get this:

If a seller doesn't have the item, they shouldn't post an auction. Pisses me off...

NO, I don't think it is needed. The screen has protection itself, and it is not sensitive like a lens. And you don't use hard cloth to clean it. You will use lens cleaner to wipe all dust off, or even blow light dust off.
