noticed today the scroll lock LED is no longer working, i am not sure if it was working after i did a clean install or not. Would a clean install have affected it even though the Caps Lock LED still works?

yeah the caps lock one and the quickplay touch sensitive LEDs all work fine. guess i will have to restore it and then send it back. I will lose everything which will be a pain

dead LED then. Id rather keep it than sending it back, its not really a big deal.

Send it in when your warranty is near its end

yeah but this way i will get a brand new one rather than a repaired one. also the right palm rest isn't level with the left one so when i press down on it the laptop tilts to the right slightly. not a big deal but the laptop wasn't exactly cheap so i would expect better quality

LEDS can die out just like a lightbulb, these no guarantee they will last forever but they are usually last a very long time

Dont think they will replace the whole unit, they will simply just replace the LED and re-seat the palm rest area so its level
