    Hey all,

    I'm looking to upgrade my aging DV7-2170US Pavilion with a second hard drive, does anybody know where I can find a compatible bracket that will house the second hard drive?

    The idea is to get a 256GB SSD and place that in the primary hard drive slot and then move the 500GB mechanical to the second slot. I don't want to lose the ability to use my DVD drive, I've seen a few hard drive brackets that replace the optical drive bay so I'd like to avoid that.

    I live in Canada, buying north of the border would be preferable to avoid custom's taxes.

    Any ideas?

    I found that HP part # 517639-001 is the right bracket / sata connector cable that I need but prices are in the +-$50 range which is ridiculous so would prefer to get it cheaper. Does anybody know if this can be sourced in Canada, preferably Calgary.

    This would help me a lot!

    This place has an office in Ontario. They list that kit as refurbished but don't list a price for it. Quantity in stock says inquire. Should be cheaper than a new part if they have it.
