I bought a Compaq C712NR laptop on Black Friday, and am now encountering issues with Vista involving Explorer continuing to crash. I have tried to install Windows XP on the laptop, but I haven't been able to assemble all the drivers and moreso find out how to properly set up XP to work with the computer. The main problems I have been having are with XP Pro refusing to note widescreen resolutions, as well as a complete lack of battery and wireless internet support.

Honestly, I'm not sure what half the parts in the C712NR are, as I was unable to find a parts list online. The drivers provided on the HP website for the computer lack half of the functionality needed to make the laptop run equivalent to the base Vista install. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
