Hey, I was wondering if anyone had any experience sending in their laptop for repairs without the original HD. I need to send in my dv7tse for repairs, (probably the motherboard, just wont turn on) and when I spoke to the customer service guy, he said the hard drive "should" be included. This seems strange, I have always kept my HD with other companies. But I cant back up all my info, and I dont want to risk anything happening to my data. I have another (smaller capacity) drive I can throw in there if they really need a drive for testing purposes. Has anyone sent in an HP laptop for repairs without the hd, or with a different HD?

Its just for testing. Call the repair centre and advise that you will not be sending in. They will use in house HDD
