Should I seek compensation from HP? If so, how? The Radiance screen was a $200 upgrade at the time of purchase, which was shortly bumped to $300. My customer service rep told me I would get a screen back "from the same manufacture" or something like that. I was in warranty, so the repair didn't cost anything, but they basically shafted me out of $200-300.

I'd fight for a rebate on the radiance upgrade fee. It's not your fault they didn't stock the parts necessary to properly repair your notebook but it's also not realistic to force a company to replace a part that doesn't exist anymore with that same part. If they want to downgrade you, I'd say you would be entitled to a rebate on the upgrade fee or if you didn't want the BV, they should either refund your cash (which might be tough and leave you without a laptop) or give you a credit towards the purchase of a current Envy 17 SB or you can try to hold out for the newer Envy 14 SB and hope it comes with a better than BV display. Good luck.

They gave me a 256gb SSD for the radiance when I complained.

They should send you Equal or greater value.

Find that line in your warranty contract, and call back and raise hell.

What did you expect? There aren't any more Radiance screens. They can't just magically make one. When you sent it in, you should have specified that since there aren't any more Radiance screens you want some other form of compensation.

Oh, there are more left. They just aren't being made anymore. If you really want that Radiance working 100%, you should have ordered the screen itself and swapped it.

I can send a link to the actual panel itself, but keep in mind it does NOT work with the BV screen casing.
