Sorry if this is covered elsewhere, I couldn't find anything on it.

I've had a DV1130 for about 2 years. I like it, but I have a mechanical problem with the hinges and lid. The hinges are loose, and two plastic covers for the hinges on the lid part broke off.

I'd like to fix it. Is there a service manual available online?

    Thanks,

    jv

we should be very thankful for compaq, HP, lenovo, and others, for releasing service manuals to the public, unlike crappy companies like acer...(and its acer manuals im needing the most as their ****ty notebooks are always breaking and falling apart...)

in all my past dealing with acer and toshiba to get manuals, they would not give them to me - it seems acer doesnt make one, they consider their FRU index to be a service manual (yeah bloody right, how stupid are you? stupid enough to make terrible notebooks for average prices...) and toshiba makes them but only distributes them to repairers...so with enough googling you can generally find a full service manual for your model, or one like it. only a few companies make it easy for you to obtain them...
