Guys I need some help from you I think!![]()
Just got an envy 2001eg in Germany (might be a germany only model, its the "normal" non-3D 17" Envy with 2630qm) and Ive been trying to find info on the german sites about the whole b2/b3 fiasco... Well, there is close to none, which has really made me believe bad things about the laptop .
All the software checks on my laptop report b2 revision. My serialnr however is 111, according to HP these shouldnt be affected. I called support, the guy said "We will pick it up and repair it" even tho I really DOUBT he had any idea what I was talking about... I even got a pickup-date arranged for next week..
I know some guy in here already took a HP laptop with a suspected b2 inside only to find its a b3. Can I rely on my serial number only? Or should I let them pick it up and have a look at it? :s What do you guys think?
Really been bugging me since yesterday lol . Otherwise Im in love with the thing...

Well noone came to pick the notebook up lala
. Guess Im gonna have to call again, I bet theyve messed my address up or similar...
Anyhow, I have a small request for you guys - does anyone with a 2xxx Envy 17 get CPU-Z to show B3? I tried flashing the new bios, factory defaults, service pack 1, it keeps saying B2. And with all the conflicting infos I am indeed starting to think the bios doesnt read the revision right...
So my question to all envy 17 Sandybridge owners - do you all see "Rev B2" in CPU-Z? -
I see Rev B2 in CPU-Z however using HP's serial tracking you can confirm it is not a flawed revision.

Severely in doubt - envy 17 2001eg, serial 111 -> b2 or b3?
