    Shaky screen

    I recently purchased an HP dv9000t. I noticed that the screen shakes quite often, even if you set your hand on the table or something like that. It is my first notebook, and I'm not sure what is standard. Is it common for notebook screens to shake like this? Should I consider returning it and getting a different model? Thanks.

    No it isn't common nor is it a good thing. But maybe the screen is shaking because you have magnetic things close by.

    Now, we're talking about the actual image on the screen -- not the lid, right?

    No, it's the whole lid. The image doesn't shake.

    you probably have loose hinges. you can try tightening them.
