My dv2000t shipped yesterday and now finally shows up on FedEx tracking. It shows as picked up in "SHANGHAI CN."

Do they build their notebooks in China? I had no idea. At least they're shipping it airmail -- it shows up as due for delivery on Friday.

Yeah, most laptops these days are built in China. The dv2000t specifically is built in Kunshan (China) in a factory owned by Wistron Corporation. It will only travel via air from Shanghai to Anchorage to Indianapolis or Memphis. From there it travels via fedex ground.

Thanks! If it has to get from Memphis to Atlanta via ground, then maybe I won't hold my breath for Friday.

Ha! I also just noticed that FedEx lists the package at 4.5 lbs. Apparently I am going to own the world's lightest dv2000t -- sweet!

That, or they're shipping me the wrong computer.

FedEx just provide rough weight, could not be that accurate.

I ordered my ZV6000 from HP about a year ago and once it shipped from China it only took about 4 days until I got it. Fedex actually had it to my home about 2 days before they said it would be there.

I just check my tracking and it said 8:55 AM Delivery exception Customer not available or business closed. Which sucks because that means I missed them by like 20 minutes.

I guess fed-ex doesn't just leave packages huh?

I believe that if you post a signed note on your door to the effect of "FEDEX: Back in five minutes, please leave package," they will do so.

yeah I have a elderly neighbor that lives in the apt. across the hall. She normally signs for everything for the whole building and the delivery guys generally know this. Guess I'll leave a note for tommorow to ring her bell, just in case.

I ordered a DV6000Z. I just got the Fedex tracking. I also saw Shanghai, China. I hope Yao Ming autographed my DV6000Z.

I can't for it, I keep thinking maybe I should have gone for the DV2000, but oh well.
