Can everyone with a 1680 dv9500t share there desktop color settings? I am trying to find a good combination for applications and text. Not so much photos, videos, and games. I am on my computer 10-12 hours a day and my eyes are tired from the new laptop. I was more comfortable with my dell and can't tell if it is settings or the screen. Please help before my 21 days are up.

    thanks

    Mine:
    Brightness: 50%
    Contrast: 20%
    Gamma: 10%

Anyone know what the defaults are?

Yes, those images are blurry because the person who made them is incorrectly using JPG files for bitmapped images. They would be much better if they were GIF or PNG images.

JPEG is ONLY for photographs. GIF or PNG should be used for screen shots, etc...

Ok so does anyone know why my screen seems fuzzy. It is like I can see the liquid in the screen on the light parts and the fonts are not crisp. I have tried HP drivers and 163.44 and 163.69 forceware. None help.

It is at the native resolution of 1680x1050.

I did try the clear type tuner. Maybe a loose cable. Do you know if hp has disassembly instructions?

Yeah maybe it is time for a eye check up.

You can check out the Service Guide ( http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01154774.pdf), but I strongly recommend against it. I know it sucks, but you should send it in for warranty repair or return it. Doing it your self risks damaging and voiding your warranty.

Orev thanks for the link...I had found it just after asking. I am on hold for now as I have upgraded drivers and tweaked color settings. It is getting better. I will hold off on opening the case. I understand your reservation, but sooner or later these things need to be cracked open to clean. I have had my Dell open more times than I care to admit including replacing the screen and inverter and the occasional cleaning out of dust. As for the color settings, I will probably get a monitor color calibration tool since I need it for photo editing and printing any way.
