Mine was supposed to be shipped today, but status still says production. The phone rep says it'll ship later today, but does that mean I miss the Fedex cutoff? Been almost a week now in production. Sigh.
-
ya it could mean u missed he cutoff depending on when that is, but cheer up at least u dont have to wait for 2 months like some lenovo ppl
-
Dont worry too much about the fedex cutoff since it seems to be a common occurance. Every shipment I have had from HP went through teh same Package received after fedex cutoff. But the packages themselves were never delayed and arrived within the estimated time frame(4 - 7 days for free shipping).
-
This is what we've been telling you, it WILL miss the cutoff. Do you really need to create another thread about this?
-
Your laptop will arrive. I know it feels like it takes forever but I promise you it will come. I would not be surprised it FedEx does have it. It just may be that they have not updated the tracking yet. Once FedEx has it you will have it in 2 business days (3 tops) whether you ordered with free shipping or 2 day does not matter.
-
I'm in the same boat... except I don't have an order number or tracking number.
-
It's a lemon replacement, so the order is made by HPs financial department (see link in signature). I'm in the dark as to the status of the build and shipping because of the bureaucracy at HP. Not even HP ECR will have the tracking/order status until practically the day it arrives at my door.
-
Kubel,
I just got my lemon replacement--it arrived on the 5th business day following the replacement order, and came from Houston, TX via FedexOvernight. Coincidentally, I called HP the night before it arrived trying to get any information on the status.
As an aside, I'm astonished--in a good way--at the number of upgrades I received. -
mine shipped from china to alaska to jersey to long island new york in 3 buisness days that was the standard 5-7 day shipping it ships fast dont worry.
-
jasondg,
That's good to hear. I received absolute confirmation that it was ordered on July 12th (I heard this from ECR in California) but it may have been ordered as early as the 9th (I heard this from L2S in India). So worst case scenario according to your timeline, I should get it by Thursday. I'll be gone all day Wednesday, so I hope FedEx doesn't come then.
I still haven't been told if my replacement is the DV6000Z (with upgrades) or a TX1000Z. I guess I'll be surprised when I open the box.
-
I originally ordered a dv2500t CTO. My replacement came in a box labeled as "dv2501xx" and shipped from Houston. They bumped up the processor from T7100 to T7300, the HD from 120GB to 160, threw in a webcam, AGN wireless + bluetooth, an extra 12-cell battery in addition to the 6-cell, and a cheapie pair of earbuds--basically, a fully loaded model. I'd assume that if they ship you a dv6000 model, it'll be a solid upgrade.
All in all, about $300-350 worth of upgrades--even if it's stuff I didn't originally need.
Now, I'll simply hold my breath and hope this one lasts longer than a day or two. -
Woohoo! Mine is now in Alaska. Should arrive here on 19th at 10.30 am. I will be at work then
.
-
Mine's still in Shanghai. Someone shoot me. >.<
I wonder what the odds are of me receiving it before Thursday night. :S -
Mine also said it would ship today, they actually shipped it from shanghai yesterday and it currently says it's just left Anchorage Alaska. Anyway I checked FedEx's tracker and it said it should be delivered thursday by 10:30 AM!
-
When you say yesterday, do you China's yesterday? Or our yesterday?

kubel,
Spoke to India. When I originally called HP support, I was led through all the suggested troubleshooting steps, and then received a call back the following day from the same tech informing me they'd be sending a replacement. He confirmed the specs of the laptop I ordered as well as my shipping address, and said the replacement would be "at least as good as what I ordered, and one or two things might be upgraded."
When I checked on the status, I also spoke to India--in fact, I was getting sort of upset, or at least I *sounded* upset, just because I had been without a computer for a week or so. I asked to be directed to a supervisor, and he told me I'd get a call the following day. This, of course, turned out to be irrelevant, as the replacement arrived the following morning. -
Also, I should mention that it seems my replacement was a pre-packaged top of the line model that's not available for purchase at this time (hence the different model number and the 12-cell battery throw-in). Also came w/ a note that the laptop was "brand new and fully tested."

My laptop arrived today! Shipped on 16th and FedEx tried to deliver it this morning !!!! Thats pretty quick! I was at work so I'm heading over to the FexEx location to pick it up in about an hour. Oooo....exciting!!!!
-
Mine came today also, 2 day shipping! Not bad.
-
three questions.
did you order two day?
did yours miss the cutoff?
annnnd where do you live? D: -
My 6500 was ordered on the 11th July, and I've no idea when it's due to arrive. I'm guessing around the 25th.
-
1.) Nope, standard 3-5 business day shipping(ordered july 8th)
2.) Don't think so, I went to fedex's tracking site and it was really moving fast.
3.) new jeresy -
I mean, it should say if yours missed the cutoff or not on your tracking page. :S
Would you mind posting your tracking information? Not the number or anything, just the days/destinations. -
Ok, I see what you mean. July 16th at 10:04 AM it said the package was received after FedEx cutoff in Shanghai. But it also says it left Shanghai at 10:54 AM. By 11:51 AM the next day it was in Anchorage, Alaska. Around 8:20 AM this morning it arrived at a pretty major FedEx hub about 30 minutes from where I live. They came around 10:30 AM. Hope that helps. Thats the only part where it mentions a cutoff, in the very beginning.
-
Okay. So. My thing is in Alaska right now.
I've noticed it arrived around 2:45, an hour or two later than most people I've seen this year. Does it still make it to IN same day? :S -
My recent experience on two notebooks from HP China is two days, both "missed Fed-Ex cutoff. I imagine that simply means the data for the shipment was sent to FedEx at night and the package was picked up the next business day.
On both I had only requested standard shipping. -
Thanks for letting me know, mallmand.
My thing just left Anchorage at 5:46 PM. I hope it comes tomorrow morning. :S -
So mine said shipped last night, also missed ct off in China. Does it generally arrive before the date it sys on the fedex site?
-
-
well in that case, I think I'll call tonight and ask if I can do the same...
-
so basically it has to be paid for?
-
According to HP's shipping policy they dont appear to have Saturday or scheduled delivery option for custom built notebooks...
http://www.shopping.hp.com/webapp/shopping/shipping_policy.do -
damn, so I really do have to wait until tuesday, how crappy.
-
So as of Thursday 12 noon EST my laptop shipped (estimated ship date was July 24). However the tracking # doesn't yet yield any results. Just wondering, about how long will it take for FedEx to show it has the package? BTW, I chose the Free 5-7 Day shipping. Thanks.
Shipping - damn HP.
