and I got the two day shipping, well heres the problem, it has an estamated shiping date of august 27, which, unfortunately is my first day of class and I leave for school on the 23rd. Now I know that the date they gave me is a worst case senario date, but my main question is, will I recieve my laptop before or on the 23rd? If anyone has ordered a custom laptop or pc recently from hp could tell me their shipping times that would be great. Im hopeing hp isnt too backed up with the back to school college orders :( . Anyways I pretty much dont want to go through the troubble of driving back home (3 hours) from college to get my laptop, not to mention on a day that I have class.

    Thank you!

Well, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I think it is unlikely that you will receive it before you leave on August 23rd. Also, the 2 day shipping is kind of a wast of money since the laptops typically ship in 2 days regardless. Anyway, if you know the address of where you will be you might could ask for it to be shipped there instead. Other than that I'm afraid you will have to drive back to get it or either have someone get it and ship it to you after it comes. I know its a bummer but I don't want you to get your hopes up and then be mad at HP for no reason.

Right about now, with all the delays, I'd expect it to be fairly close. Of course, I could easily be wrong. There's not an easy way to predict these things, so just prepare for the worst case. You could have them mail you the laptop to your school. Or have your parents visit show you could "show them around" and remind them to bring your laptop ;) Adamantly remind them.

Unfortunately, if you're on a tight timeframe and need a laptop then the best thing to do (especially right now with all the delays) is to go to a B&M store and buy a notebook from them

thanks guys, its a shame that it probably wont come by the time I leave, but thats my fault for taking so long to order it. If I knew what dorm room Im going to be in I would deffently ship it there but sdly I dont. It also suckeds that I wasted the money on 2 day shipping, but I just wanted to get it as fast as possible, oh well, not too much I can do now. Anyways, thanks alot guys, and once I get it im sure the wait will be worth it.

Well if your college was like mine, they'll have a mail room. So you just to the mail room with your name and box #. Then you just get a slip of paper in your box telling you its arrived and pick it up inside the mail room. Contact your school to see what's up with mailing.

yeah, were sopposed to put our dorm hall, floor number, and room number, then when the package arives they hold it at the front desk. Even if I were to do that i dont trust the students working the desk

oh well, just gotta tough it out I guess, hopefully my teachers wont assign hw on our first few days
