    Enable write disk caching in properties tab under device config for my default nc8430 Hitachi 5K100 hard drive?
    There is a warning that there might be some data loss if there is a power outage, but since we have double power on laptops (ac adapter and battery) this is not the case I guess...

    what are your thoughts folks?

    It should not be a problem, as it appears XP has this checked by default on every laptop I have had.

    I tried but it's not working anyway...
    I checked it and now its unchecked by default and I can't change anything...
