It's not a bad deal, but keep in mind it's not brand new. Can you see it in person? Using a 30% coupon you could get a good deal on a new hdx16 which begins at $999 (before the coupon). Depends whether you want a faster processor, blu ray, 1080p, and an extra helping of shiny, but if you rather stick with 16:10 the dv5t is a good choice. Whether you have to pay tax on the dv5t is another factor, that can top $100 for a new laptop.

    http://www.dealtaker.com/HP-coupon-code-a521-c.html

If the code doesn't work you can call HP over it, they gave it to me no problem. Battery life isn't that great, 2 hours tops at 50-60% brightness with wifi. You can get a 12 cell though, but I have no experience with that. I've had my HDX for over 4 months now, no problems. The dv5t will run just as well.

i would never buy a used laptop unless it was marked down at LEAST 60%......

I bought a $3,000 IBM tablet a few years ago from someone for $700. it was a christmas gift and the person simply wanted it out of his hands and not collecting dust. he said he could use the cash more than he could use the tablet so there you have it.

you can hold onto your $800 and put that towards a newer machine with better specs. I concur with the other members - wait for the 30% coupons. you'll be glad you did.

with 'used' electronics, you just never know what you're getting. personally, i would prefer putting the $800 towards a $1500 system rather than putting $800 into a used machine and saving a hundred or 2 hundred bucks. that doesnt make sense to me since the risk of getting a 'lemon' is much higher.
