I see its on sale now, should I go for it? The specs are exactly what we want...14 inch, Core 2 P Series, 4 gig ram, not horribly heavy. Should I order this now, or wait for a better deal to come up?

That's a pretty solid configuration for the price. Other options to look at are the Dell Studio 14z, Lenovo Thinkpad T400, and the Dell Latitude E6400 and E4300 (get the Latitudes from the Dell Outlet for the best deal).

The 14z would be a particularly attractive option if you don't always need the DVD burner and place a greater value on a light laptop - plus, it has a very nice high-resolution 1600x900 display.

no HP coupons out there right now? i agree, you should be able to beat that price if you look around hard... maybe if it at least came with discrete graphics i'd say go for it..
