I've owned the dv2700t for 17 days now. So far there have been two strange occurrences. First time, the whole computer just powered down while I was streaming video, on a fully charged battery. Second time, just now, the computer froze. At first I thought it was the mouse that was not moving, then I couldn't even ctrl+atl+delete to open the task manager. The computer is 2.5ghz with 4gb memory, so I don't think it just froze because of the stress. Should I call HP to resolve the problem or simply ask them to send me the return label? I don't really want to take the risk of going through the repair process, since HP tech support is entirely incompetent. There have been other small problems over time, but they could be solved by a simple restart. Other than that, I am pretty happy with this computer. Please give me your advice. Thanks in advance.

Could be defective RAM. Run memtest to see whether it passes it.

I'll the test later, but I doubt it's the problem of the ram. The memory sticks I'm using right now is a 4gb Kingston I bought to replace the 1gb no name crap HP threw in.
