Okay so recently I bought a Compaq Presario CQ62-238DX and I was looking to buy both a screen protector and a keyboard protector off of ebay, BUT it seams no ebay sellers in the US sell any for the CQ62 models. So should I really trust a seller from HongKong??
These are the items I'm looking at buying.
TPU Keyboard Cover Protector HP Compaq Presario CQ62 - eBay (item 260656061976 end time Sep-25-10 02:32:30 PDT)
Anti-Glare Screen Protector HP Compaq CQ62 CQ61 Series - eBay (item 230465271979 end time Oct-18-10 20:55:03 PDT)
Any input will be helpful

You can definably trust "ele-pop". I have purchase from him/her several times and it arrive timely. Also he/she response to emails pretty quick.

I buy stuff all the time from overseas sellers on ebay... the only real issue is that it will take at-least 2 weeks before the item will arrive at your door

If you get the anti-glare protector, can you post a review? Thanks in advance.

Biggest drawbacks are slow transport times and those damn customs/taxes. Buying inside EU is simpler in that sense.
I've succesfully bought all kinds of stuff around the world so far. Toughest case was some Italian dude who just couldn't understand he put 1000e instead of 10e as mailing costs. Google translator is a good friend of mine these daysI always look for the reputation received first, how much and what kind. Also I weight in the value of item itself I'm going to buy.

I always buy stuff from HK so I dont' see any reason why not. The quality isn't the best but it's good enough to get the job done.

The greatest feature within eBay is the rating and feedback system.
If he/she has a very high feedback rating, then there is a very high percentage or probability that you'll be satisfied.
Make sure the seller will provide support in the unlikely event that his/her product should be defective or inadequate. -

well so far I only put the keyboard protector on and wow it's junk. The protector moves around while typing and sometimes it moves out of place. so far buying from ele-pop is a bust. I will update when I put the screen protector on.

The problem is more about the time it takes and the extra shipping costs. The reliability of the seller can be anything from outstanding to inexcusably bad, and everything in between, but even assuming you get an honest seller, IF you have any problem with the product, then what do you do? The options are usually time consuming and expensive. Here's what happened to me when I purchased a 12 cell battery for my dv5t, from a seller in Asia. The battery sent to me must have been a clone of some sort, because it looked right but didn't fit properly into my laptop. When I confronted the seller he/she was very nice and very polite, but wanted all kinds of pictures of the problem and proof that it really didn't fit -- (which I sent, by the way) -- but then wanted more pictures and more discussion --- and I finally realized that I was spending so much time dealing with this, not to mention the shipping time (and cost, which you shouldn't have to pay, but probably will) to send the battery back to Asia + then wait for another one -- it took 3 - 4 weeks to get the original battery --- well, I just gave up and taped the battery into my laptop with duct tape. Not very pretty --- but it works fairly well.

I have bought over 260 items from overseas(many of them from Hong-Kong or China) and I didn't have one single mishap.Even I am suprised sometimes. One particular mouse that I ordered wasn't functioning 100%.They let me keep the mouse and they sent me another one.

Yea I had the same thing happen to me, I ordered a Nokia N96 (about a year or so ago) and I waited around 3 weeks and it did not come. I called paypal and they refunded my payment and I decided to get the N97 since I had just gotten my paycheck and I ordered the N97 (Both from overseas) and I waited about a week, I started getting nervous since I though that I would not receive that one either, and one afternoon I am coming home with a friend and I am explaining to him how these shipping companies suck and that my phone is not here and the FedEx guy pops out of nowhere and says "yea I know how you feel and your packages are here" and i was amazed and i felt bad about talking trash about them, but anyway im expecting one box and the FedEx guy gives me TWO, I went home and I open both boxes and guess what N97+N96 arrived.
I was thinking about giving the money back for the N96 but the guy was an **** and aggressive so I decided to be cheap and pretend not to have received it...

What about warranty? I myself live in the Netherlands, and I am thinking of buying an (official refurbished) Envy 15 in Germany via eBay. Will the warranty still be valid in the Netherlands(it says that it has a one year warranty)?

I'll never buy anything out of the us ever again. Yeah ele-pop is a great seller very friendly but the products are crap. I told them I wasn't happy with the keyboard protector they said send us $2.50 and we'll send you a silicone cover. I said is this the one your talking about?? It was a black cover with the letters on it really nice cover. I noticed after I bought the tpu cover they sold silicone. They said no this one and it was a clean cheap silicone one. ( price difference between the two was like 2 bucks ) Mind you I paid $9 for the tpu and the silicon was $9, the cheap silicon clean one was almost $7.
So that is that. BTW the screen protector is a pain to put on. The video link they send you to is a Chinese guy that doesn't say one word at all just moves his hands like do this this way and that that way. Really frustrating not able to hear someone say oh hey do this or do that, you know?? So I don't recommend buying anything out of the us if you live in the us, chances are it's junk your buying from a sweet shop. It's like a walmart that's on ebay, cheap labor for a cheap price. -
This thread has quickly evolved into a hatred for other countries.
You get what you pay for...
Keep in mind that most of the stuff we use in day to day life is imported. Check the label of your favorite garment or the "Made in China" label beneath your keyboard.
A lot of those sellers lure people in with what appears to be a superb deal, but if it's too good to be true, then it usually is too good to be true.
We've all been the target of a bad deal, but for every bad seller there are many good ones. Hopefully, we can stop the bickering and find an actual resolution.

And there is a difference between a product being made from an actual company and not some half place. Would you buy an hp battery from hp or one that is generic from joe nobody?? Both are made in chine but one is of better quality.
Should I trust an Ebay selling from over sea's??
