I thought I read something about some of you losing features or the ability to use certain brands of components after updating your BIOS... I know many more have 15" than 17" and wonder if this is even the right place to be asking questions about Envy TS 17's, since I've seen Envy 17 1xxx/2xxx/3xxx/3D, etc. WHERE DO THE J000/J1xx go??? I thought I read a post that the 15 & 17 use the same BIOS, but I thought the revisions were in the 50's... HP Support Assistant keeps asking me to download F.56? My current one is F.32.

What may be different updating it from 32 to 56? Would it affect me installing an mSATA Samsung 840 EVO? a 7260 WiFi card?

I wouldn't have thought that updateing your bios would stop you from installing the components you want. I have a 17j184na and have updated the bios twice since buying it in September because they were recommended fixes for ssd's
