Hi,
New here and I've searched the forums a lot but haven't seen this specific problem mentioned.
I got my daughter a new Envy 14t-2000 two months ago for her to take to college, and so far she loves it. However, we're trying to Skype (with video) with her and there is an odd problem. After about 30 seconds, her video freezes, and all we see is the frozen picture. She continues to receive our video just fine.
Initially, I thought there might be graphics driver problem with the ATI/Intel switchable graphics, but after telling the system to use both the "power saving" and "high performance" graphics for Skype, the video still froze. In addition, I saw other issues of video freezing with similar HP computers related to WiFi card drivers....but she's not using WiFi. She's got a hardwired connection in her dorm room.
That led me to think that perhaps the problem is with her webcam-- that somehow the webcam driver is freezing when used by Skype. There's no specific webcam driver download on the HP website...so no way to update it.
I can't find anything that addresses this particular problem....so any ideas would be welcome. Unfortunately, since she's 2400 miles away, I'll have to get HER to try any fixes!!
Thanks.

This might just be issue with skype, they had a bug recently, it's been fixed in latest minor update. 5.5.0.115
