    blahhhh thats nothing.
Its just a softwear tv/video player. you still need to buy the Slingbox to be inline with ur highspeed/cable connection in order to use the sling player.

And from what ive seen so far the tv broadcasts from slingbox is bad and i mean really really bad. Watching tv via antenna would bring a better picture

    Dude, that's terrible news.

I thought HP was going to finally fix the Quickplay feature I paid for and perhaps even give it new capabilities.
Was I dreaming, or what? :nah:

yey well i bought one of the earlier SlingBoxes last year to try out. It was insanely expensive @ $250 and it looked like a giant lego block with lights. The picture was so bad that i returned it

To me, wireless Tv is one of the technologies thats way overdue. At the time i also looked at the Sony Locationfree Tv anywhere unit. Same principle as the slingbox and even more expensive.

So the HP agreement to add the sling player is just a coy for Sling to try sell more SlingBoxes. Its a proprietary media player which requires the Sling tuner. No biggie. I wonder how much HP is getting for this agreement

Yeah, I mean, really, this kind of sucks. If someone bought the Slingbox, they would get the Slingplayer already anyway. Who gives a hoot if it becomes accessible by Quickplay anyway. Quickplay barely works with Vista.
