I have noticed latlely my 9500 seems to be booting slow. It comes up for 30 seconds with the Login screen and then after I swipe my finger I get a pitch black screen for 2 minutes before the desktop is actually shown. I don't remember getting a black screen like that before.

I don't have that rig, but you may want to check out registry defragmentation. Free Registry Defrag really helped my booting time.

I ran registry Mechanic 6 on it and it didn't fix all problems. I think most of this third party stuff is not working with Vista 64bit. Everything I have tried so far either doesn't work right or doesn't work at all. Most won't even install on it. When are these develpers gonna make stuff for 64 bit. System mechanic 7 won't install, ad aware 2007 scans but never seems to finish this registry mechanic 6 seems to work partly but not 100% fixing problems like it did in XP.

I'm not sure..... but I have the same experience with Windows XP. I logged in, and I waited about 3-5 mins until the taskbar appeared. Total, it took 10-15 mins for all startup progs to run. It appeared to be the hard disk. After I changed it, no more problem. It loads normally now.

You might want to check if you have defective HDD. Mine was Pavilion zd7377EA

This morning mine didn't do it. They need to get some utility and maintenance programs out that will work on the 64 bit platform. What about the Windows One care does that do anything?

The same exact thing happened on my dv6500t and I am running Home Premium 32 Bit. What I did was a clean install and that solved all the problems really well, man is a world of difference.

Download ccleaner. Its free and its fast and it works with Ultimate. I have been reading of some issues on here of Registry Mechanic 6 actually screwing up the Registry and causing problems. I think thats what happened to mine.
