So do I have a USB/HDMI or USB/eSATA combo port?

    DV 2400 owner here with P/N: GD712AV.

It comes with nVidia 7200 Go video card. Theoritically, nVidia video card could come with HDMI, but not always the case. So..how do I know if mine has one? I am actually looking for eSata port since I want to purchase an external HD for backup purpose.

From what I can remember HP didnt introduce HDMI and the eSATA ports until the release of the Montevina platform. So, only the dv2500 and newer models have those ports as an option. Since the one you list is a dv2400(aka dv200t) it doesnt have either of those ports.

I don't think a USB/HDMI hybrid port exists at all. If you want to see if you have HDMI, look at this picture and look see if you have it. And while "theoretically nVidia card could come with HDMI", I don't think they put it into notebooks at the time that your computer was made.

A USB/Esata combo port is here (it is the middle one). I doubt you have that either.

Mmm, the pics are HDMI and Esata port. They are not combo port with USB.

I just wonder if there is an additional function for the USB port on the left side of my lappy.

Btw, I have the HP ExpressCard TV Tuner, there is a port that I don't know what it is ...is it HDMI? It doesn't look like it.

Only the dv2000's with the nvidia 8400m gs came with HDMI and you lost your USB port on the left side of the computer.

Yes, the middle one in the pic is a combo eSATA/USB port. If you look closely, you can read it says eSATA and has the USB symbol over it. Looks just like the one on my dv5t
